John A. Wiech Memorial Scholarship
The 2025 Scholarship Application period is now open.
The Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) is pleased to announce its 2025 John A. Wiech Memorial Scholarship program for our annual scholarship awards. Once again, we anticipate awarding two $1,500 scholarships that will hopefully assist in offsetting college costs for the upcoming semester.
Eligible students are currently enrolled in a university or college accounting program leading to an associate, baccalaureate, or master's degree. There are no limitations on the nature of the relationship of the applicant to a CFMA member. Applications are due by Friday, May 30, 2025. Completed applications and related correspondence should be emailed to buffaloniagara@cfma.org.
Winners will be selected the week of June 16th and notified accordingly.

About the John A. Wiech Scholarship
John Wiech was a friend to many and a longtime supporter of the construction industry. For years, John chaired the Buffalo Niagara Chapter’s scholarship committee. John took this position seriously and was committed to making scholarships a meaningful part of our chapter. Because of John’s commitment, the Buffalo Niagara Chapter board of directors thought it appropriate to name its scholarship after John and to call it the John A. Wiech Memorial Scholarship. We hope that this is a fitting legacy for a man who devoted much of his time to the construction industry and to CFMA.
Rick Wagner Memorial CCIFP Scholarship
The CFMA Buffalo Niagara Chapter will provide a reimbursement grant of up to $1,200 for anyone in the chapter who passes the CCIFP exam, becoming CCIFP certified. The scholarship is intended to reimburse a new CCIFP certified CFMA member for the cost of studying and sitting for the CCIFP exam.
